First Presentation of Sentim Project in Larissa, Greece
On 20/09/2015 the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development(IED) organized an internal meetup of the people that are closely related with the organization, employees/researchers/workers/volunteers.
The subject of the meeting was the presentation of the project Sentim.
Panagiotis Koutoudis (Project Manager of IED) introduced the subject and the activities of the project to his peers. That triggered a group discussion about the unemployment that is especially highlighted in immigrant population and how entrepreneurship could be an alternative solution for them.
Some of the participants referred to similar actions that are implemented in Greece and abroad. They distinguished the innovative factor of the activities of Sentim project and they exchange opinions about the best ways to implement these activities. Under these scope, a lot of productive ideas came up. Finally, the team focused on the actions that IED will implement during the upcoming years.
As a result, people got a clear view about Sentim project in order to be involved in the future. Moreover, they became ambassadors of the project and from this day they will be able to present Sentim project in other occasions.
«ROUNDTABLE FOR SOCIAL ECONOMY & ENTREPRENEURHIP – ACTION & GROWTH PROSPECTS»
Nowadays in Greece, the need of searching and finding alternative sources of employment and integration into entrepreneurship through organized strategies and action is more intense than ever before.
A source like this is Social Economy and Entrepreneurship’s sector which shows positive growth prospects and can absorb people who are interested in joining employment and entrepreneurship while they are contributing to the development of the local and national economy.
In this direction, Institute of Entrepreneurship Development in collaboration with the Association of Thessalian Business and Industries, organized a workshop – roundtable for exchanging thoughts, presentation of actions and strategies as well as best practices related with Social Economy and Entrepreneurship. Within the workshop’s framework, there will be special emphasis on how the social Economy sector can be a means of integrating vulnerable and specific groups of the population, such as immigrants, into employment and entrepreneurship.
The result of the workshop – roundtable will be to record the existing needs and to plan actions and strategies related with the training of the stakeholders around Social Economy and Entrepreneurship.

Workshop – Roundtable Event in the city of Karditsa
The Institute of Entrepreneurship Development in collaboration with the Development Agency of Karditsa, organized a workshop – roundtable for exchanging thoughts, presentation of actions and strategies as well as best practices related with Social Economy and Entrepreneurship.
Region of Karditsa shows a high interest and activity in the field of social economy, therefore a significant pool of success stories and best practices are available (e.g. Stevia Cooperative)
Development Agency of Karditsa has a vast experience in the field of social economy and entrepreneurship, having supported the foundation of several social enterprises in the region Thessaly.
The Institute of Entrepreneurship Development informed the participants about the Erasmus + project “Sentim”. ACTIVITIES IN STEP INSTITUTE FOR THE PROMOTION OF SENTIM PROJECT
In November and December 2015 SENTIM was mostly disseminated throguh e-mail, telephone and online channels (news on the STEP website and Facebook). Face-to-face presentations were conducted with the immigrants that participated in the interviews.
Tine Nagy and Andrej Juričko have presented SENTIM project to mentors and participants at the STARTUP weekend in Trbovlje, Slovenia. They have also discussed about the project and the state of social entrepreneurship in Slovenia with Mr. Tadej Slapnik, representative of the department for social entrepreneurship at the Ministry of economic development and technology.
SENTIM project and the activities are presented at the multiplier event in Slovenia. Special meeting was organised also with the representative of the Forum of Social Entrepreneurship and one of the social enterprises (Skuhna, Zavod Global).
Tine Nagy and Jerneja Šibilja have presented SENTIM project and its activities to 8 participants (from 4 different countries) at the Erasmus+ course “Teaching Entrepreneurship in Schools: Experiential approach”. Also, in the scope of the study visit the project was presented to the representatives of the Entrepreneurship Incubator of the University of Primorska (Koper, Slovenia).
Tine Nagy and Blanka Tacer have presented SENTIM project and its activities to 10 participants (from 7 different countries) at the Erasmus+ course “Teaching Entrepreneurship in Schools: Experiential approach”. Also, in the scope of the study visit the project was presented to the representatives of the South East European Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (Zagreb, Croatia).
Blanka Tacer has presented SENTIM project and its activities to 8 participants (from 5 different countries) at the Erasmus+ course “Teaching Entrepreneurship in Schools: Experiential approach”. Also, in the scope of the study visit the project was presented to the representatives of the Business Accelerator Katapult (Trbovlje, Slovenia).
Tine Nagy has presented SENTIM project and its activities in the frame of national project “Strategy for youth living in rural areas and their opportunity in social economy” in Gornja Radgona, Slovenia. Mr Dejan Židan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food was also present at the event and meeting.
Tine Nagy has presented SENTIM project and its activities to 10 participants from Turkey at the Erasmus+ course “Teaching Entrepreneurship: Training of Entrepreneurship Trainers”.
Andrej Juričko and Jerneja Šibilja have presented SENTIM project and e-learning platform to the 19 participants of the “Emotional Intelligence Skills Development to Foster Youth Employability” in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Participants were from 7 different countries working in the field of employment and providing support to youn g individuals (unemployed or those at the beginning of their working career).
Andrej Juričko has presented SENTIM project, activities and e-learning platform to apx. 50 participants at the event “Strategy To Raise Awareness and Improve, Generalize and Help Tackling European Needs for BASIC SKILLS” in Vienna, Austria. He especially discussed about the project with representatives from the faculties, municipality and NGOs from Hungary, The Czech Republic, Austria and Germany.
Tine Nagy has presented SENTIM project and its activities to 6 participants (from 3 different countries) at the Erasmus+ course “Teaching Entrepreneurship in Schools: Experiential approach”. Also, in the scope of the study visit the SENTIM platform was presented to the representatives of the Business Accelerator Katapult (Trbovlje, Slovenia).
SENTIM flyers (about SENTIM project and e-learning platform) were available at the 6th fair of the social entrepreneurship at Nova Gorica, Slovenia.
Jerneja Šibilja has distributed SENTIM flyers (about SENTIM project and e-learning platform) to participants (apx. 25 tutors and coordinators) at the event “Tuition as the Social Responsibility” organised by the Career Centers of the University of Ljubljana.
Andrej Juričko and Jerneja Šibilja have presented SENTIM project and e-learning platform to the participants of the Erasmus+ training “Basic skills in working life” held in Porto, Portugal.
Events planned after the end of the project:
On 5th December 2017 Jerneja Šibilja will present the SENTIM project at the “Market of opportunities” in the scope of traditional entrepreneurial event organised by Career center Ljubljana in the Center for innovative entrepreneurship in Ljubljana. They are expecting apx. 100 participants, they will also live stream the event.
Bufalini dissemination activities
Bufalini dissemination activities have been implemented by using different strategies and channels.
First of all, Bufalini developed a strong collaboration with the local NGO Tamat. As Bufalini is a professional VET school, this collaboration was crucial in order to achieve a different target group and different stakeholders.
For that reason, during the project cycle, Bufalini used mainly the following channels in order to spread information:

Target groups of the dissemination activities have been:
– training centers
– associations working with migrants
– migrants’ association
– professional schools
Bufalini organized a Multiplier Event in Italy bu it also participated to other events organized by other organizations.

Two main events were:
Multiplier Event – “Medbalt” project
Tamat hosted Bufalini during their multiplier event on 20th of May 2016 in order to give visibility to SENTIM and share the results achieved through the project. The event took place in Perugia at Umbrò Conference Hall.
The event was organized with the intend of discussing about possible solutions on: migrants employment, microcredit, voluntary return as a strategy to develop migrants’ countries of origin.
Bufalini had the opportunity to share the SENTIM tools and participate to a roundtable with important stakeholders as:

– Luca Di Sciullo, IDOS (organization in charge of developing the Italian annual “Migration Statistical Dossier”)
– Barbara Pilati, Social Policies Responsible for ARCI (the most important organisation dealing with migrants in Umbria)

Growth and growth of entrepreneurship among migrants
The Italian multiplier event of “SENTIM – Social ENTrepreneurship for Immigrants”, was organized on 28th October 2016 at Immigration Consultancy Office in Via Imbriani 2, Perugia.
Main contents of the event: immigrant entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, development, employment, interviews to migrants who have succeeded in creating a business in Italy and migrants who would be interested in creating it in their country of origin
“Migrant Entrepreneurship” has been discussed by Stefano Briganti of the Workshop Bufalini (City of Castello), Francesco Francescalia (Umbria Region), Franco Billi (Regione Umbria) Suleman Diara (Barikama Social Cooperative), Riccardo Fano (Ya Basta Association), Modou Gueye (Association Sunugal), Robert Stalin Moran (entrepreneur), Piero Sunzini (Tamat NGO), Paolo Tamiazzo (ARCI / ARCS).
During the event, boys and girls of the (Young Muslims Association of Perugia), had the opportunity to share to the public the entrepreneurial projects developed through the working seminar of the SENTIM project.
After the presentation the entrepreneurial projects were discussed, improved, analysed through a World Cafè that included also the stakeholders and the public who attended the event.

Social Start Ups Multiplier event.
It was an event focused on “adult people with low level of key competencies and tools able to empower them with entrepreneurial competencies”. The event took place in Perugia on 10-11.03.2017.
Bufalini was invited by Tamat to share SENTIM results and aims.
On Thursday and Friday, 27-28 October, took place the third transnational meeting of Sentim project and the second multiplier event, in Umbria, Italy.
Throughout the meeting were presented the results of the workshops developed in Italy (by GO Bufalini) and Spain (Burgos Acoge) to test the methodology to train in competences for entrepreneurship, small adaptations of the methodology were agreed and next steps of Sentim project were planned, including some adjustments in the project schedule.
The final version of the methodology is avalilable here. All the final results of the Sentim project are available onhttp://sentim.org/index.php/expected-results, where results are available in English and their translations in the four partner languages (Italian, Slovenian, Greek and Spanish).
Next day, on Friday, October 28, 2016, between 10:00 am and 4:30 pm in the Office of the Consultation of Immigrants in Via Imbriani 2, Perugia, a working day took place in under the Sentim project.
According to the report of the Center for Study and Research IDOS on Immigration and Entrepreneurship of 2014, Umbria is the fourth region of central Italy according to the number of companies promoted by immigrants and occupies the sixteenth place at national level with 7,457 companies. Individual companies (about 6,000) are the most widespread form of business among immigrants.
The event focused in promoting business initiatives by immigrants, social entrepreneurship, local development and employment. And migrants who have managed to create their company in Italy or those interested in starting a business in their countries of origin, had the opportunitie to told their own experiences as entrepreneurs or potential entrepreneurs.
Along the multiplier event became known the methodology, specially adapted to the needs of Immigrants, developed to date in the framework of the Sentim project: The evaluation of competencies for the entrepreneurship and the methodology developed to train in competences and to accompany in the entrepreneurship processes.
The event was attended by the partners from the Sentim project who had the opportunity to share experiences and good practices in the following areas: Business training for young people and adult persons of foreign origin; policies and strategies to promote entrepreneurship among citizens of foreign origin; local development and creation of social enterprises under the European regulatory framework; and possibilities of support for immigrants interested in entrepreneurship who wish to return to their countries of origin.

The young people of the Association of Young Muslims of Italy, Perugia Section, participants in the workshop on “Training in skills for entrepreneurship” developed under the Sentim project, presented their ideas of social enterprises.
The day served to publicize the methodology developed within Sentim to provide people of immigrant origin with the basic tools to understand concepts and ideas related to entrepreneurship and to learn how to use their skills and knowledge for development innovative and sustainable social enterprises.
Finally, an ad-hoc lunch was prepared by the Mensa chefs with the Tua Testa, the Ya Basta project in association with AIAB Umbria and Ponte Solidale.
The second transnational meeting of SENTIM project took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia on 13 and 14 April 2016. Project partners have made an overview of all activities done until that moment and they have planned activities for future tasks: trainings and e-learning platform.
So far project partners have prepared a report about the state of social economy and business opportunities in the frame of it in eachIMG 2617Ljubjana June 2016 country, interviews with immigrant were conducted in Spain and Slovenia and tools for assessing interest for entrepreneurship among immigrants and identifying entrepreneurial competencies were prepared. All documents and tools will soon be available online.
Moreover, on 13 April 2016 first multiplier event “Proactive steps towards entrepreneurship” was held in Ljubljana, at Creative Centre Poligon. More than 50 participants had the chance to get to know SENTIM project and get acquainted with activities already done and results achieved and also with future planned activities.
More than 50 participants at the event also got the chance to test Pro Action Cafe methodology in the process of developing actual business or project ideas and solving real challenges of individuals and organisations. During the whole process our guests had the support of experienced mentors. In a round table discussion three immigrant entrepreneurs from Iran, France and the Netherlands shared their stories and business experiences in Slovenia. The event, held at a coworking place, offered also a great space for networking and creating links for future cooperation.

SENTIM team is already excited about future project activities, results and events.
The first transnational meeting of Sentim project took place in Cità di Castello, Italy, on 4 and 5 November.
Throughout the meeting the most important aspects of the project (objectives, actions, timetable, budget) and the responsibilities of each partner were clarified.
According to the Sentim working plan, these are the next steps of the project:
– Collecting information to analyze the business opportunities in the frame of social economy in each of the participating territories.
– Identification of the necessary skills or competences needed for the individual and social entrepreneurs.
– And at the same time, development the plans for dissemination and evaluation.
– The meeting was also an opportunity to know our hosts, the training center Operaia Officina Opera Pia “GO Bufalini “, the people who are part of the institution, the students and the way they work. We also had the opportunity to enjoy their fantastic hospitality.
